Elder Pronk Mission to Panama

APRIL 6, 2010

Hi,

This last week went pretty fast, probably because of conference. We

>also had zone conference yesterday so I did not get a chance to write until today.

I also caught on to the topic of conference being the home and parents teaching

>children. Obviously it is something really important and there are a lot of problems

>in the worlds in regards to that. I don´t have my notes with me, but I remember

>specifically a talk by Elder Packer and Elder Perry I believe about those issues.

>It was really ineresting.

Elder Holland had a pretty powerful talk about lust and love. He had a few funny

>and strong comments.

I can´t believe a missionary could eat 10 hot dogs, that´s insane (Kirkland priesthood outting w/ full-time missionaries). I think I

>would get full after a couple now. I´m just used to eating rice now mostly, which

>I eat way too much of.

I looked at the classes mackenzie signed me up for and they look pretty good.

>It seems like it´ll work out. The rest of the stuff will just have to come when

>it comes.

I am really jealous of mom being in South Africa. I hope she takesa lot

>of pictures. I really want to go...soon. It is one of my goals to go at least once

>during my life. It is also cool because the world cup will be there in a couple

>months, I bet everything is crazy there.

well i hope this next week goes well for all of you. It seems like christina

>is coming home in the next couple days. That should be nice to have a break.

Thanks for all the support and prayers. From conference I feel like I´ve strengthened

>my testimony again. It seems like that always happens. There´s

>just something about english that just reaches me more than spanish.

I´ll talk to you soon

Ben

MARCH 22, 2010

hi,
another week, the start of a new transfer. i got lucky this time and i´m still in the same area, with the same comp even.

the last week went okay. a bit crazy. at the end of the week we had another elder with us because his comp went home a couple days early (he finished, but because his visa expired they just sent him home 3 days early instead of renewing it). They had a baptism on Saturday so that was good to participate in. Now we have quite a few new people in the zone... it should be interesting. I´m district leader now... In my area we have a few investigators, but not much righ tnow... we´ll have to keep looking for new people.

I need to take more pictures like you said. The problem is they don´t let us carry our cameras around... a lot have gotten robbed recently. I just don´t ever bring it so i have few pictures. I´ll try a little bit harder though... i just don´t want to get robbed and lose it all though.

In terms of health, I´m doing a bit better. I got over being sick in a few days. It was rough. I guess another elder in my zone is allergic to pork... his eye blew up for a full week.

This last week we found out a bit more about the new mission president. He´s from huntington beach, CA and was the owner of a furniture company. They should be here about July 1. Speaking of california. There´s an elder here that is from Palo Alto. He´s tongan. There are a lot from there.

Anyways... glad to hear things are going well at home. Keep me informed. Thanks for everything. Love you. I´ll try to write a letter soon.

Ben
